IMSS focuses on understanding market strategies and priorities of the business units, how company strategies can be applied to manufacturing objectives, manufacturing practices, and present and future areas for improvements in manufacturing.
The questionnaire is divided into the following sections:
- Section A – Description, strategy, organization and performance of the business unit;
- Section B – Description, strategy and performance of manufacturing for the dominant activity of the plant;
- Section C – Current practices and past action programs in the following areas: production planning and control, production technology and ICT, quality, product development, supply chain management.
In the last editions, specific questions about sustainability and globalization have been inserted.
